I will always have a certain fondness for mulled wine. This was our life saver in London. Janet and I were at Borough Market freezing and this was the perfect remedy. For our NYE party, she made some and how fitting it was that we had Brit visitors too...Good memories.
Ingredients:
2 bottles of red wine
6 cups water
1 cup orange juice (I just used 2 Tbsp triple sec)
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp powdered clove
Half a honey bear
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 cup brandy
Put all ingredients but the wine into a stainless steel pot, and warm gently for 10 minutes. Do not boil. Add in the wine and let sit for a while to steep the flavors in. Serve warm.
